Tea with the Deacon - Sundays through May

Have a cup of hot tea or coffee ready, and share a little time together in a conversation around the Gospel of the day as listed in our Lectionary.

It was so nice outside last Saturday; I worked on our kitchen garden.  With this Shelter in Place ordinance, I try to take advantage of beautiful days and step out of the house for some fresh air, especially since I work from home and I am inside all day. I decided to have a little teatime in the garden after weeding.  While enjoying my tea, I got to thinking how much I miss our teatime after church on Sundays.  That said, Rev. Shirley and I have an idea: Tea with the Deacon. 

I plan to host a Zoom gathering this coming Sunday May 3 at 1 pm (Good Shepherd Sunday).  Everyone is welcome to Zoom in.   I will have a hot pot of tea ready to share a little time together in a conversation around the Gospel of the day as listed in our Lectionary.  It can be a combination teatime and bible study.  We may even chat about a piece of art that typifies that particular Gospel.  Some of you may know that I am a fan of Murillo’s work.  I find it interesting that he chose to depict the Good Shepherd as a young boy.  Either way, my hope is that this may provide an opportunity for us to gather in some form or fashion throughout the rest of Easter-tide while we are not able to attend church in person. 

I hope to see you this coming Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 1 pm. (Teatime may be limited to 40 minutes as allotted via my Zoom account).  You should receive an invitation to a Zoom meeting some time this week via our email link.
