NotesEnjoyLittleThings.jpg

Greetings Beloved!

I pray that this note finds each of you well. We have a few activities coming up that you might be interested in.

June 28th: Wardens and Rector met with vestry to discuss Bishop's new directive to re-gather in the sanctuary. They will be giving you instructions and updates as we tentatively move towards coming together August 2, 2020.

June 29th: Pella and I interviewed and I hired our newest family member. Her name is Markia Hogains, she is our new Bookkeeper and Parish Administrator. She lives in Warner Robins and although she will go on payroll as of July 7th she will work from home on some things as she self-quarantines after travelling recently. She and Pella hope to begin some training on July 14th.

June 30th: Rev. Shirley along with, Rev. Bonnie and Arch Deacon Janet Tidwell finished most of the recordings needed for July services.  Rev. Shirley is actually preaching three times this month!!

July 5th: This will be our third Zoom service this year. We will do our best to begin on time barring electronic spiritual moments. You should see a bulletin soon.  I look forward to seeing each of you there!

Here is the Zoom information:
Shirley Porter is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

July 12, 19, 26: These are the dates for Tea with the Deacon at 1 pm on Sunday afternoons. I have attended one and it is a great conversation on scripture for the day as well as personal responses to what is being said. It is a nice way to spend time on a Sunday afternoon! Hope you will join soon!

July 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th: On Wednesday evenings, at 7 pm during July and probably into August, Rev. Shirley will host a discussion on "Courage" using the Living Compass guide named: Living Well Through Lent 2020: Practicing Courage with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength and Mind. There are nine contributors to this work, most are clergy and they include a Bishop as well as a Dean. I am aware how bizarre the title sounds. I used this guide as a Lenten practice this year but I found the insight and applications worthy of a time such as this. For some of us this is a dark time, with lots of time to reflect. Courage may be needed as we continue to journey through this pandemic.

To get the Living Compass resource, all you need to do is get on livingcompass.org and pull the title down. You are welcome to copy/print the information for free. We will discuss information leading up to Wednesday of each week. I think this could be interesting as well as deep as we share our thoughts and reflections. Would love to see you there. I will send the zoom info as we begin.

If I have forgotten something please let me know and accept my apologies at this time.

If at any time I do or say anything you do not agree with, please call me and make an appointment so that we can  speak face to face with masks and being distanced from each other as we listen to each other. My cell number is: 404-769-7700.

Some verses from the letter of Paul to Timothy:

"In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly urge you: proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke and encourage; with the utmost patience in teaching ..." 2 Timothy 4:1-2

Amen and Amen!

Beloved, know that you are loved and cherished, always.
