Farewell from Rev. Arthur Villarreal
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Grace to you and peace. I hope this message finds you well, safe, thriving, and escaping the worst of the ravages of this pandemic.
Sometimes I remember that life is full of changes. This is now one of those times. This academic year marks my third year serving as your Deacon. I would like to remind you, as I remind myself, that our diaconal process provides for a service term of three years. Therefore, my ministry at St. Christopher’s is coming to a point of closure.
After a sabbatical, the Bishop will be calling me to share the Gospel, empower Justice, and serve the diaconal pastoral needs of another faithful Church Community. Before I go, I want to share a word of appreciation for you and this community of God for your support, formation, and most of all, Love. All that I have experienced here has helped me to flourish in my faith and my call to serve as a Deacon. For that, I Thank You!
My last Sunday to serve with you all will be Sunday March 21, 2021. In the meantime, I look forward to sharing stories of our ministry together as we say goodbye.
With God’s Love,
Rev. Arthur W. Villarreal
Deacon – The Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta
