Tai Chi Returns to St. Christopher's
Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention is returning to St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Perry, GA on 2 January 2019 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Classes will be held every Wednesday through 20 February. Classes are free and open to all levels of ability. If you are familiar with Dr. Lam’s Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, join us to refresh or deepen your practice as you share your experiences with new participants.
Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for older Americans. One in five adults over 50 will experience a fall in their lifetime, and one in four adults 65 or older will fall each year. Falls and fear of falling are not an inevitable result of ageing. Evidence-based programs like Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention focus on slow, controlled movements that increase awareness of weight transference and muscle engagement to help participants learn to move more safely and easily.
Join us for this “joint session” for your mind and body that will help to reduce joint pain, decrease risk of falls, and increase your overall wellness as you begin 2019.
